Altar Side Table by Tacchini
The Altar Side Table by Tacchini, developed in collaboration with EWE Studio, examines the connection between sculpture, functionality and traditional craftsmanship. It is inspired by pre-Hispanic Mexican altars and, drawing on Mexico’s rich cultural heritage, reinterprets traditional forms from a modern point of view. The thoughtfully made surfaces show slight marks and textures that highlight the process of creation, while the use of natural materials contributes to the piece’s depth and tactile contrast. It is available in ceramic, cement and cedar wood, giving rise to different material appearances while retaining its sculptural character.
Why it works in the room
Altar is especially suitable for rooms in which the furniture acts as both a practical item and an artistic feature; its sculptural form and the fact that it has a tactile surface give the room character without the need for complicated decoration, and the range of materials it offers matches well with various interior designs. Whether it is positioned next to a sofa, beside an armchair, or used as a single accent piece, it brings a sense of visual appeal and a clear indication of craftsmanship to the area.
For Cyprus interiors
In Cyprus the Altar Side Table is suitable for use in modern apartments, villas and residential or hospitality spaces which have been professionally designed. Because of its natural materials and sculptural shape it matches well with interiors that include limestone, marble, wood and textured finishes. Regardless of whether it is situated in a living room, a private lounge or a boutique hotel suite, the Altar serves as an artistic feature that combines contemporary design with a solid link to material and cultural heritage.
