Butter Sofa by Tacchini
The Butter Sofa, which was designed by Tacchini in collaboration with Faye Toogood as part of the Bread and Butter range, turns a common object into a striking example of modern furniture. It is inspired by the soft, irregular shape of a lump of Cornish butter that has been shaped by hand; the sofa has ample padding, rounded curves and large modular sections. Because of its tactile look and its playful proportions, the design has a distinct character and at the same time combines an experimental idea with a feeling of comfort.
Why it works in the room
Butter Sofa is especially suitable for rooms in which sculptural furniture can take on a central role; its soft shapes and generously padded sections give off a relaxed air, and the modular parts allow the arrangement to be altered to suit different layouts and seating requirements. The mix of playful geometry and textured upholstery means that it is appropriate for modern living rooms, creative areas, and casual lounge spaces where both comfort and individuality are important.
For Cyprus interiors
In Cyprus, the Butter Sofa is suitable for modern apartments, large villas and residential or hospitality interiors that are professionally designed. The sofa’s rounded shape helps to soften open-plan living areas, particularly when it is combined with simple architectural lines, natural stone and warm timber finishes. In boutique hotels, design-focused lounges or private living areas the sofa’s unique shape can act as a lively focal point at the same time as maintaining a friendly and thoughtful atmosphere.
