Marathon Dining Table by Cattelan Italia
The dining table known as the Marathon Dining Table by Cattelan Italia blends architectural inspiration with the natural elegance of wood to produce a modern dining table characterised by movement and sculptural form; it has curved wooden legs which bend smoothly towards the centre, looking like flexible branches that have been shaped by motion; four lacquered steel supports strengthen the structure at the same time as providing a contrasting material element that brings out the natural grain of the wood; the extra-clear glass top finishes the design by showing off the base’s craftsmanship and flowing geometry from all angles.
Why it works in the room
Marathon turns the dining area into an architectural arrangement, the sculptural wooden base acting as the key element in the design. The transparent glass surface gives a sense of openness and enables the table to remain visually light even though it has a expressive structure. The use of curved wood, lacquered steel and glass achieves a balance between organic warmth and modern precision. Together with upholstered dining chairs and lighting placed with care, Marathon produces an elegant atmosphere for ordinary dining, for entertaining and for social meetings.
For Cyprus interiors
Marathon provides an attractive blend of natural materials and architectural design that suits modern Mediterranean homes. The transparent top surface allows light to go through, which makes it very effective in bright dining rooms where it is important to maintain a sense of open space. The warm wooden base matches well with limestone, marble, neutral fabrics and other natural finishes, while the steel details provide a modern contrast. It is appropriate for use in elegant apartments, coastal villas and houses with an architectural design, bringing a sculptural quality to the dining area without making the overall interior look overloaded.
