Sempronia Chair by Tacchini
The Tacchini Sempronia Chair, designed by Tobia Scarpa, introduces a characteristic 1980s style into modern interiors through its bold geometry and well-balanced proportions. A double-circle pattern is formed by the interlocking circular parts and this is what gives the chair its sculptural character. The two legs are made where two cylinders meet and stretch towards the backrest, while a thin metal armrest provides a sophisticated contrast between structure and function. A re-designed seat with soft padding improves comfort and gives the chair’s expressive shape a more friendly appearance.
Why it works in the room
Sempronia is especially suitable for use in interior spaces where the furniture can add character through its unique shapes and geometric features; the chair’s sculptural frame gives it a strong visual impact and at the same time the padded seat means that it can be used every day. The fact that it has curved parts combined with linear metal details enables it to go well with a wide range of table styles and so makes it a desirable option for dining rooms, meeting areas and refined lounge environments.
For Cyprus interiors
In Cyprus the Sempronia Chair is suitable for modern apartments, villas and residential or hospitality interiors that have been professionally designed. The chair’s geometric structure goes well with interiors which include natural stone, timber, glass and fine metal finishes. It can make a notable design contribution when placed around a dining table or in a thoughtfully selected reception area by combining architectural character with practical comfort.
