Sesann – Grand Sesann Sofa by Tacchini
Sesann – the Grand Sesann Sofa by Tacchini, designed by Gianfranco Frattini in 1970 – is an iconic item of Italian design which embodies a style of relaxed living through generous proportions and a sculptural shape. The voluminous upholstery is held in place by a visible tubular metal frame, which not only gives definition to the overall shape but also produces a clear contrast between structural accuracy and softness. The range consists of both Sesann and Grand Sesann models, the Grand Sesann providing a deeper and more enveloping seat. Each sofa features handcrafted upholstery, which gives each piece a individual character and retains the original design features of Frattini’s.
Why it works in the room
Sesann is especially suitable for interior spaces in which comfort is achieved through generous shapes and a careful selection of materials; its broad seats and pleasant contours promote a relaxed posture, whereas the visible metal frame gives the sofa a strong architectural character. The Grand Sesann provides an even greater amount of seating space and is therefore appropriate for larger living rooms and lounge areas. Just like the other model, both versions combine the warmth of upholstered furniture with that of a sculptural metal structure.
For Cyprus interiors
In Cyprus the Grand Sesann Sofa range is suitable for modern apartments, large villas and residential or hospitality interiors that have been professionally designed. Because of its ample proportions it is an ideal choice for open-plan living rooms and informal lounge areas, and the contrast between the soft upholstery and the metal details matches well with natural stone, timber and glass. Whether it is used as a standout item in a private home or in a hospitality space with a focus on design, the collection combines Italy’s design tradition with modern comfort.
