Description
Baldwin Sofa by Cattelan Italia
The Cattelan Italia Baldwin Sofa is a modern day seating design which attains its special look through the union of sculptural forms and smooth, organic lines. Its large size and softly curved outline are enhanced by a backrest that appears to hang naturally over the seat and flows smoothly into the armrests. The option of using contrasting fabrics and leathers, in particular on the rear of the backrest, highlights the sofa’s rounded shape and allows a personal selection to be made as to colour and texture.
Why it works in the room
The Baldwin sofa combines outstanding comfort with a stylish design, so that it becomes a natural centre of the living space. The cushioning, which is made from multi-layered polyurethane, provides seating that is both supportive and inviting, and at the same time the smooth, continuous curves give it a relaxed appearance without in any way affecting its architectural character. It is available in linear, corner, and freestanding forms, allowing it to fit in various arrangements and enabling it to be used with the matching Baldwin swivel armchair to create a unified seating setup.
For Cyprus interiors
When it comes to designing interiors for Cyprus, Baldwin provides a welcoming interpretation of contemporary living, particularly in houses where relaxation and entertaining are key design considerations. The piece’s sculptural shape can soften the straight lines of modern architecture, and the use of contrasting upholstery gives the interior more depth and a personal touch. In large villas and in properties with open plans, having the sofa stand alone ensures that its unique rear features remain visible, thus forming an elegant seating area which can be enjoyed from several angles.
