Description
Nettuno Console by Cattelan Italia
The Nettuno Console from Cattelan Italia achieves a sense of fluid geometry by using soft and continuous curves that are inspired by wave motion; its sculptural metal base is made as one piece and is designed so that its appearance changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed, producing a relationship between solid and open forms as light travels over the surface. The range is available with a glass top or in the form of Nettuno Wood, blending expressive design with careful craftsmanship.
Why it works in the room
The visual effect of Nettuno varies according to the point from which it is viewed, which makes it very effective in rooms where the console can be seen from multiple angles. Due to the curved base, it produces changing patterns of light and shadow, and the finishes available in the hand-brushed collection enhance both its texture and sculptural qualities. The glass model keeps the emphasis on the smooth, flowing shape, whereas Nettuno Wood brings a more substantial material presence through its well-crafted top, its contrasting inlay and exact joinery.
For Cyprus interiors
Nettuno is capable of introducing a sense of movement and three-dimensional character into interiors of Cyprus that are otherwise characterised by straight architectural lines. Its varying appearance matches especially well with rooms which have a lot of natural light, since the curves and finishes show off different qualities during the day. Regardless of whether it is used in an entrance, a living room or in an open-plan area, the option of choosing between glass and wood enables Nettuno to go from a more visually light appearance to a warmer and more noticeable feature.
